Silver metal clay is a unique form of silver. It is made by combining microscopic particles of silver in an organic binder. The clay is hand formed to create your piece. The clay is then finished and fired in a kiln to burn off the binder, leaving a 99.9% pure silver object.
SIMPLE STAMPED/MOLDED SILVER METAL CLAY PENDANT & EARRINGS - Beginner's class. The student will learn the working properties of the clay, and the tools needed to work it. A molded or textured pendant and earrings will be made. Tool kit use provided for class use only.

SILVER METAL CLAY CHARM BRACELET: Beginner's class. Multiple charms will be made to add to a sterling silver link bracelet. Wire-wrap techniques will be presented to add these charms and beads to the bracelet. Students can bring their own beads to add to this bracelet or beads will be provided. Tool kit provided for class use only.
ADVENTURES WITH LEAVES: Beginner's class. Students will learn two methods to reproduce real leaves in silver metal clay. Leaves will either be coated with paste or leaves will be rolled into regular silver metal clay. The leaves will then be fired and can then be made into earrings or pendants. Toolkit provided for class use only.
CLASPS IN SILVER METAL CLAY: Intermediate class. Students will learn to make both rolled coil toggles and stamped and cut toggles, as well as puzzle clasps. Hand-made toggles provide the perfect finishing touch.
PEBEO PAINTS ON SILVER METAL CLAY: Intermediate class. Students will use Pebeo glass paints to create a piece which simulates the look of enameling. This paint needs 24-hours drying prior to thermo-hardening, after which students can either return and pick up their piece or have it mailed.
RESIN AND SILVER METAL CLAY Intermediate class. Learn the hot new trend of resin jewelry. Embed items with personal meaning in your jewelry or pictures. Students will make and fire a frame or celled piece in class and then embed their chosen items in the resin and cure.
PHOTOPOLYMER PLATE MAKING FOR SILVER METAL CLAY: Advanced beginners - Learn to make your own stamps for silver metal clay. Students will be be given photo polymer plate and a selection of images to etch. A simple pendant or pair of earring can be made and finished in class. Tool kit use provided for class use only. Materials fee includes 7 gm clay, leather cord or 1 pair of sterling ear-wires.
DICHROIC GLASS & SILVER METAL CLAY: Intermediate class. 1 1/2 day class. Students will learn the techniques and procedures necessary to set glass in silver metal clay and fire it safely. On day 1 of class, students will make and fire their piece. On day 2, the pieces will be removed from the kiln and polished.
SINGLE STRAND BEADING - Beginner's. Students will learn the basics of stringing on flexible beading wire and finishing the ends with crimp beads and crimp covers, or French bullion and clasps. Beads will be provided, but students can bring their own beads if they wish. Tool kit provided for class use only.
MULTIPLE STRAND BEADING - Intermediate. Students will learn how to string on flexible beading wire and weave through strung beads or braid the strung beads. Crimping multiple strands and finishing will also be demonstrated. Beads will be provided, but students can bring their own beads if they wish. Tool kit provided for class use only.
Handmade felt is created by taking cleaned and carded wool fleece and manipulating the fibers to link together, either by dry-felting with a barbed needle or wet-felting with hot water and soap. Wet felted items are then "fulled," which shrinks and hardens the felt.
WET FELTING - FLAT: Wispy fibers of wool roving are layered, wetted and rolled to create unique pieces of cloth which can then be made into barrettes in class.
COBWEB FELT: Wispy fibers of wool roving are layered and felted in a very fine layer of drapable felt that can be used for scarfs or shawls. Tool kit is provided for class use only.
WET FELTED BEADS: Fibers of wool roving are needle-felted and then fulled with hot water and rolling. Beads can be made into either bracelets or necklaces during class if time allows. Tool kit provided for class use only.![]()
NEEDLE-FELTED ANIMALS: Students will learn to use a felting needle to form one of a kind animals. No sewing is involved to create this unique creation, as the needle 'entangles' the wool fibers to form a solid mass. Students will be shown how to form a body with wool coils and how to make a wire armature for body structure. Tool kit provided for class use only.
BEGINNER'S WIRE-WRAPPING. Students will learn to use plain wire and simple hand tools to create jewelry. Basic techniques for making jump rings, ear wires, connecting beads and wrapped bead loops will be demonstrated. Students should be able to take home a finished pair of earrings and a finished bracelet. Tool kit provided for class use only.
